Manchester City have a whopping 84 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title after their 2-0 win against Tottenham, according to a supercomputer.
City leapfrogged Arsenal to move top of the table with just one game left to play after their pulsating victory on Tuesday, courtesy of two goals from Erling Haaland.
Pep Guardiola's side survived a number of nervy moments in a tight showdown in North London, substitute goalkeeper Stefan Ortega delivering a heroic second-half cameo to leave City standing on the brink of yet another league triumph.
Haaland broke the deadlock after tapping home Kevin De Bruyne's cross six minutes after half-time before Spurs ramped up the pressure to set up a tense finish.
Ederson had been forced off after a heavy collision and his replacement crucially denied Son Heung-min one-on-one and Dejan Kulusevski twice, with Haaland then wrapping up the three points from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
Ahead of the final day of the season, City are two points ahead of Arsenal and look on course to become the first club to win four successive Premier League titles.
This has also been reflected in the latest simulations from Opta's supercomputer.
The revised title chances have City at 84 per cent and as near certainties to lift the trophy once again at the weekend - with rivals Arsenal now at just 16 per cent.
That represents a significant uptick on their 58 per cent chance after the weekend. Arsenal triumphed in just 41 per cent of the supercomputer's season simulations.
It appears, then, that the fate of the title race was decided in City's win at Spurs.
Had City lost, Arsenal's chances of lifting the trophy instead - their first league title since 2004 - were estimated at 81 per cent with City on only 19 per cent.
Even a City draw would likely have handed Arsenal the title. In that scenario, Mikel Arteta's side were 75 per cent favourites to end City's dominance over the top-flight.
Guardiola credited City's looming triumph to Ortega's eye-catching resistance.
'He saves us – otherwise Arsenal are champions,' he said. 'That is the reality.
'The margins are so tight. The save from Son. It was incredible. One-on-one, Stefan is one of the best keepers I've seen in my life.'
City will win the title should they beat West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday.

Okay, the first time Son missed a one-on-one in the EPL is against Man City, let's clap for that, not Oil Money at work. We are spending on players salary while Man City spending on refs and VAR, that's the difference.
Hehe typically africa man mentality. So those era arsenal winning trophies they were spending money on referees? i can see you are feeling the heat and pain, so now the nonsense talk is city spend money on ref. poor you. every one know man city is the best team in the world period take it or leave it. if someone is above you wish them well and may be one day you can also go up. stop the nonsense talks. bring your evidence. arsenal is not at man city level in the last 10 to 15 years.

am talking about overall winning performances on the field of play to win the epl not just about won against city, to beat city on the field of play meaning is a competition the best team at the end of season will lift the trophy. this not about money. all teams spends money, no team is getting players for free, all teams pay players salaries and other expenditures. so you guys should stop these nonsense talks about oil money. sound like jealousy, or your team also looking for oil money? so do you mean your team is poor to spend ?

The Computer should no longer be SUPER if it continues to predict the winner of EPL until the last kick of the season.

this is simply a computer, but not a "supercomputer." A supercomputer should only predict once in a premier league season, not every time a game week passes, it should predict.

At the beginning of the season, supercomputer mocked Arsenal and predicted them as EPL winners. One match to end the season now, supercomputer finally telling us the truth that City will win. Sorry Arsenal. Even supercomputer is trolling you😂😂😂
