Galatasaray striker Osimhen, speaking ahead of the upcoming home match against Barcelona, stated that Barcelona are one of the best teams in history and currently the best team in the world. He also emphasized that Galatasaray need to stay focused, press aggressively, and be prepared to play for long periods without the ball.
Osimhen is well aware of the immense challenge Galatasaray face. The Turkish side will host Barcelona at Rams Park, where the home crowd will try to lift the team as they take on one of European football's most formidable opponents, promising a highly demanding encounter.
As a key player for Galatasaray, Osimhen did not hide his anticipation for the match, but at the same time highlighted the opponent's quality. In his view, Barcelona are currently in excellent form, and he unhesitatingly places them above other teams.
"I know that Barcelona are one of the best teams in history, and right now, they are the best team in the world," Osimhen said.
Before the two teams officially clash on the pitch, Osimhen's words acknowledge the difficulty of facing Barcelona.
Osimhen is not just emphasizing Barcelona's reputation and history. The striker also explained why facing Barcelona is so challenging, including their ability to dominate matches through possession and the exceptional individual quality of their players.
He said: "When you face a team with so many high-level players, you need to play with passion, but also stay focused and press in the attacking areas."
Osimhen knows that Galatasaray must remain focused throughout the entire match. Barcelona are accustomed to dictating play and forcing opponents into long periods without possession, which will demand huge collective effort from the entire Galatasaray squad.
"They will have possession for long periods, so in this type of game, you have to show a certain resilience," Osimhen stated.
Despite the difficult challenge, Osimhen does not want respect for the opponent to become a constraint on the team. He said that he and his teammates are particularly excited about the opportunity to face Barcelona and play such a match in front of their home fans.
Osimhen concluded: "The game against Barcelona will be difficult. But honestly, like my teammates, I am very excited about this match. We are ready, and whatever the outcome, we will face it with our heads held high. Playing against Barcelona at Rams Park will be fantastic."
