Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has hinted that he 'definitely' wants to play in the Premier League during his career.

The Nigerian forward has been on the radar of a number of clubs in the English top-flight, with west London giants Chelsea that side closest linked with him.

Mail Sport previously reported that the Blues were looking at Osimhen, with a summer transfer more likely than a move in the January window.

Now, talks of Osimhen potentially heading to England have arisen again after the forward himself admitted the he aspires to play in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports about his situation at Napoli, the forward said, 'I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie.

'He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened.

'So for me, ADL (Aurelio De Laurentiis) has been the kind of president who has been supportive to me outside the pitch and of course, I make sure I give my all and try to win the Scudetto for them.

'For me, it is always important to have this kind of relationship, to be happy with the owner of the club.'

On whether he wants to play in the Premier League in the future, Osimhen said: 'Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows.'

The £112m-rated striker has been a long-term target for both Arsenal and Chelsea, but has committed his future to Napoli, who won the 2022-23 Serie A title.

While the 24-year-old was originally contracted to the Italian champions until 2025, Sky Sports in Italy report that the deal has been extended, with a release clause reported to be in the region of €120-130 million (£104m-£113m).

The Nigerian international signed for Napoli in 2020, and has played 96 times for them, spearheading their charge to the Italian Serie A championship.

Manchester United are another Premier League side that have been linked to Osimhen's services, as well as several big-spending Saudi Pro League clubs.
