Oxlade-Chamberlainm signs a three-year deal with Besiktas for free transfer

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has joined Besiktas in a three-year deal after leaving Liverpool earlier this summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had been a free agent after departing the Reds in June following six seasons at the club.

Despite interest from a number of Saudi Pro League sides, Oxlade-Chamberlain was in Turkey on Sunday to undergo a medical ahead of the move to the 16-time Super Lig-winners.

The 29-year-old made 146 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool after joining from Arsenal in a £35m deal in 2017.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was part of the Liverpool side that secured a first Premier League trophy for the club in 2020, and also featured in their league cup-winning squad two years after.

However, injuries curtailed his involvement in recent seasons and the attacking midfielder was limited to just four Premier League starts last season as Jurgen Klopp's side failed to secure Champions League football.

The former Southampton star joins the Black Eagles as they look to build on their third-placed finish in the Turkish top flight last season.

Senol Gunes' side are currently in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League and begin their domestic campaign with a trip to Fatih Karagumruk on Monday evening.

In signing, Oxlade-Chamberlain has become the latest Englishman to ply his trade for the Istanbul-based club.

Dele Alli netted twice in 13 appearances in an ill-fated loan spell, while Nathan Redmond was also at the club last season before returning to the Premier League with Burnley this summer.
