Real Madrid are weighing up whether to let one of their top talents leave this summer in a bid to fund their transfer business, according to reports in Spain.
The Spanish giants have endured an imperfect season that has seen them drop out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, lose the Copa del Rey to loathed rivals Barcelona, and could yet miss out on back-to-back LaLiga titles.
The arrival of long-awaited superstar Kylian Mbappe has failed to have an immediate impact, with the club as yet without silverware this term, and four points behind the Blaugrana in the league standings.
Mbappe's arrival has also forced a shake-up in Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI, with the Italian head coach attempting to find the perfect formula for his raft of superstars.
But as the season draws to a close, the outgoing Los Blancos manager has appeared to find his preferred starting XI - omitting regular fixture Rodrygo.
Mail Sport reported at the end of April that the Brazil international had been mulling his future at the club with Turkish midfielder Arda Guler increasingly preferred.
But Premier League clubs could yet be put on notice as news has emerged that Real could be the ones to put their star up for sale.
As per as, the club are believed to be viewing Rodrygo as more and more expendable to their project, which will be helmed next season by head coach-in-waiting Xabi Alonso.
The player has only scored once in his last 21 appearances, and Rodrygo was publicly hauled off at half-time by his frustrated manager during the abortive Copa del Rey final.
Rodrygo is contracted with the Spanish club until 2028, but the report alleges that Real Madrid could be keen to cash in on his high market value - which could, at £84million (€100m) deter some Premier League suitors.
Should Alonso see Rodrygo very much in his plan as a regular starter, however, the Real Madrid star is unlikely to leave.
But if not, a number of Premier League clubs keen to bolster their attacking ranks such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea could make a move for the 24-year-old.
Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2018, and has since secured three LaLiga titles, three Supercopa de Espana trophies, two Champions League titles, and the 2022-23 Copa del Rey.
The forward has an impressive goal haul despite his recent form, netting 68 and contributing a further 50 assists during his tenure at the Bernabeu.

I observed a game that Rodrygo combines Mbappe and Vini Jr is always bad so, selling him is the best solution. I'm even praying for Ancelotti to start Guler ahead him in this coming El Classico in that we can have a very good game

I think is a perfect idea of letting Rodrygo leave honestly there'll be no mistake or regret in it having two to three Brazilian stars in same team sometimes it doesn't help.
