PLAYER RATINGS: Man Utd VS Crystal Palace: Two Man United flops score just 3/10

Manchester United's hopes of qualifying for Europe were dealt a major blow after Erik ten Hag's suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Michael Olise set the Eagles on their way for a third consecutive home win in the Premier League by finishing from the edge of the box after a mazy run.

Palace's lead was doubled by Jean-Philippe Mateta before half-time, with the Frenchman continuing his blistering form by firing a powerful strike beyond Andre Onana.

Tyrick Mitchell and a second from Olise helped Crystal Palace complete a crushing victory.

DEAN HENDERSON 6.5 – Probably couldn’t believe what an easy night he has against his old club. Smart save from Casemiro and beaten by another effort by the Brazilian that was disallowed for a clear push by Hojlund, but otherwise had a night off.

NATHANIEL CLYNE 6.5 – Had his hands full with Garnacho at times but looked comfortable on the whole. He’s had some big battles against United down the years but this wasn’t one of them.

JOACHIM ANDERSEN 7 – Enjoyed the physical battle with his Denmark teammate Hojlund which flared in the second half when the United striker thought he should have had a penalty. Got forward to set up the third goal.

CHRIS RICHARDS 6.5 – Snuffed out Antony’s threat on the Palace left. Won’t have an easier night all season.

DANIEL MUNOZ 7 – Got his reward for an energetic display when he dispossessed Casemiro to set up the fourth goal for Olise.

WILL HUGHES 7 – Set the tone with an excellent early tackle on Mount. Nearly scored with a half volley from the edge of the box as well.

ADAM WHARTON 7 – looks a real prospect and underlined his credentials here. Reads the game well and made a couple of great interceptions.

TYRICK MITCHELL 7 – Never stopped running and was on hand to tuck home the third goal from close range.

MICHAEL OLISE 8 – Scored a stunning free kick in this fixture last season and came up with two more here. No wonder United are among a host of clubs keen to sign him.

JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA 7.5 – Smashed home the second goal and has now scored in each of Oliver Glasner's first six home Premier League games.

EBERE EZE 7 – His performance deserved a goal and he should have had one but curled wide with only Onana to beat early in the second half.

ANDRE ONANA 5 – Couldn’t have done much about any of the goals, and grateful that his post came to the rescue on another occasion to avoid further humiliation.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA 4 – Palace bit United’s hand off when they offered £50m for Wan-Bissaka in 2019, and he has spent much of the last four-and-a-half years showing why. At least he came up with an interception to deny Edouard at the end.

CASEMIRO 3 – Wretched night playing as an emergency centre-back again. Should have been stronger in the challenge before the first two goals and then had his pants pulled by Munoz for the fourth. An absolute liability. Ironically, at the other end, he was probably United’s biggest goal threat.

JONNY EVANS 4.5 – Retuned from injury as the only fit centre-back and looked short of match sharpness when Mateta left him for dead to smash in the second goal.

DIOGO DALOT 5 - Played Palace onside for the third goal and was then outmuscled by Andersen to set up Mitchell as they tangled for the ball.

KOBBIE MAINOO 4.5 – Another flat display from the teenager, but anyone would struggle in this team. Almost let in Olise with a slip in the first half.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN 4 – Brushed off far too easily by Olise for the first goal and it went downhill from there. Set-pieces came to nothing as well. Looks like he’s starting to feel his age.

ANTONY 3 – Totally ineffective and had the embarrassment of being replaced by Amrabat straight after the third goal as Ten Hag tried to limit the damage.

MASON MOUNT 3.5 – Replaced Fernandes at No.10 but once again struggled to make an impact. His first season at United has become a write-off.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO 6 – Lively in the first half, faded in the second. It’s asking too much for him to lift this team out of the mire.

RASMUS HOJLUND 5 – Plenty of hard work again but he is lacking finesse – and service. Can’t supply the goals this United team sorely needs.
