PSG 5-0 Galatasaray: Neymar & Mbappe star to end their UCL group stage on a high

Neymar & Mbappe were the stars of the show as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Galatasaray in their final group match on Wednesday.

Neymar scored his first Champions League goal in a year as Paris Saint-Germain capped off their impressive Group A campaign with a 5-0 win over Galatasaray.

Having played the role of creator for PSG's two first-half goals at Parc des Princes, Neymar put Thomas Tuchel's side three up with a typically composed finish moments after the break.

Galatasaray needed a victory to stand a chance of edging out Club Brugge for a Europa League spot, yet the Turkish champions' resistance lasted just 32 minutes – quick-fire efforts from Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia putting PSG in control.

Neymar followed up his goal with a sublime assist for Kylian Mbappe to add a fourth just after the hour, with substitute Edinson Cavani getting in on the act with a late penalty.

PSG's front three combine in the same move for the first time tonight. Neymar threads a perfect throughball for Mbappe in the left channel, he gets in behind and squares for Icardi to dink a lovely finish past Muslera - but Mbappe was offside in the build-up.

It's pretty similar to the first goal they had ruled out earlier on. Neymar picks up the ball centrally and plays a throughball in behind for Mbappe down the left. He lifts the ball over Muslera and Icardi taps it home.

A quickfire double from PSG, Sarabia adds the second! Neymar is the driving force again, running at the defence and laying the ball off to Sarabia on the right. He holds it up for a second before shooting right-footed, through the legs of Marcao and across Muslera into the bottom-left corner.

Mbappe comes infield from the left, dribbling along the line of the penalty area before backheeling to Neymar coming in behind him. He fires hard and low across the keeper, and into the bottom-right corner.

63' GOAL! PSG 4-0 Galatasaray (Mbappe)

Mbappe makes no mistake this time, 4-0 PSG! It's another perfect pass in behind from Neymar into the left channel. Mbappe takes it in his stride, cuts onto his right foot then outfoxes Muslera, slamming it in at the near post.

84' Penalty Goal! PSG 5-0 Galatasaray (Cavani)

Penalty for PSG! Mbappe goes down under Donk's challenge in the area and they have a chance to make it five!

Cavani steps up and rolls the ball powerfully into the bottom-right corner, with Muslera going the other way. Neymar took the ball and offered it to the Uruguayan to get himself on the scoresheet from the bench.
