Paris Saint-Germain have already started counting down to Lionel Messi's signing, but the Argentine himself is yet to make a definitive decision on where his next move will be.
While everyone in the French capital is awaiting the player's arrival, Messi is at home in Castelldefels still thinking things through, calmly looking over everything before deciding on his fate. All parties, though, believe that they are into the most decisive hours of the discussions and that things could be finalised soon.
Messi was presented with a formal offer from PSG on Sunday, but he is still to give the thumbs up to the move. In the last few hours, other big European clubs have come knocking on his door, but everything now suggests that those offers have come too late and that Messi is more likely to reunite with Neymar at the Parc des Princes.
PSG are eager to close the signing and announce Messi's arrival, but the player doesn't want to rush anything. He is going through everything with a fine-tooth comb now that he has calmed down somewhat after the shock of learning that his Barcelona stay had come to an end. As well, payments and bonuses are still to be confirmed.
In France, there's confidence that everything will go to plan and Messi will be wearing PSG's shirt on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Those around Messi, though, are more cautious and reluctant to set any deadlines.
