PSG could be forced to sell one of their free star players in the summer as part of their hope of cutting the wage bill at the Parc des Princes by 30 per cent

Paris-Saint Germain could be set to have the rest of Europe's biggest clubs on red alert this summer following reports that they may be forced to sell one of their three elite players.

Messi is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree on a renewal meaning the World Cup winner could be set for another career move. A different scenario faces Neymar, with the Brazilian set to be made available by the club's Qatari owners, again, in the summer.

And despite extending his contract at the Parc des Princes in the summer, Mbappe's future doesn't seem to be as clear as some PSG supporters would like. The France international will be a free agent in 2024 and is said to be angered by the club's failure to fulfil the promises made during previous transfer sagas.

Now, according to The Times, Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to cut the wage bill by 30 per cent by the next transfer window in hope of abiding by UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. The report claims that one of the three forwards could be sold due to their enormous salary in France.

Mbappe, who has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, is said to have complaints regarding PSG's summer recruitment. Seven players were signed prior to the start of the season with Hugo Ekitike the only arrival in attack.

According to the report, Mbappe wanted an aerially dominant centre forward he could play off to be signed but football advisor Luis Campos was unable to fulfil that wish. In January, there were no reinforcements but Pablo Sarabia joined Wolves, Ander Herrera's loan move to Athletic Bilbao was made permanent and Keylor Navas signed on loan for Nottingham Forest.

Messi has been linked with a move back to Barcelona and the MLS, but Chelsea's big spending in the past two transfer windows mean it's impossible not to rule anything out.
