Kepa Arrizabalaga faces an increasingly uncertain future at Chelsea this summer, with the club exploring their options in the goalkeeping department
Chelsea could be left with no choice but to delve into the market for a new goalkeeper if Kepa Arrizabalaga leaves. The 28-year-old was heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the early weeks of the summer transfer window but, following the departure of Edouard Mendy, speculation of a move has quietened down.
Kepa, who sees his contract expire in 2025, featured 29 times for the Blues in the Premier League last season, helping keep nine clean sheets. Despite displaying flashes of brilliance at times, the Spain international struggled to impress and he played a major role in the west Londoners' miserable campaign.
While Kepa is the only viable option between the sticks for Mauricio Pochettino as it stands, he doesn't appear to have done enough to wholeheartedly cement a place in the Argentine's starting lineup. And, PSG seem to sense the uncertainty; according to French outlet L'Equipe, Luis Enrique has shortlisted the £25.7million-rated Spaniard as a potential replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose ball-playing ability has raised concern.
The 51-year-old will make a final decision on his new captain towards the end of pre-season once he's established a stronger relationship with his players. According to the Evening Standard, Thiago Silva is a 'clear frontrunner' to takeover having previously taken the armband in Azpilicueta's absence last season.
The report states that Kepa, Raheem Sterling and Reece James have also been outlined as candidates for the captaincy role. In his first interview as Chelsea manager, Pochettino explained what leadership qualities he wants to see from his new squad.
"We need leaders, not followers, in every single area and we will push every person to bring their best and give their best for the club," said the Argentine. "If we are all together, we are going to be very strong.
"We have an unbelievable squad and for sure are going to bring players with commitment who want to be part of it also. With the fans and everyone, we can find again the way to be successful."

Kepa is a strong man , he went through a lot at Chelsea FC at such a young age yet he still managed to stay and fight for his place despite the hate

PSG want to insult Chelsea what's 25m, Kepa is worth £50-60m, he's in his prime and good overall, penalties, good with ball at his feet and in a goal post except setpieces is where he need to improve. Don't get fooled my fellow Chelsea fans most goalkeepers at bigger clubs only covered by good defenders buh in reality they're full of blunders...

New owner didn't buy him so sell at any price
Yes but players worth and their wages was factored in the club price estimation. And so new owners still bought them.
