At only 17 years of age, Warren Zaïre-Emery has nailed down a spot in the Paris Saint-Germain starting eleven, having already made 30 appearances in all competitions last season.

The Paris-born midfielder is seen as one of the brightest prospects to come out of the Ligue 1 champions’ academy, and has made the most of the squad overhaul this summer to cement his place in the team. Inevitably, he was the subject of interest from around the continent, but now looks set to stay in the French capital over the long term.

According to L’Équipe this afternoon, the club are now in talks to extend his contract past 2025, with the entire management, coaching staff and fans all won over by the breakout prospect’s talent and attitude. In order to fend off further interest – Manchester City even made a move this summer – sporting advisor Luís Campos and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi have met with his agent Jorge Mendes over a long-term deal.

Zaïre-Emery had told Le Parisien last week that it would be a “dream” for him to play out his entire career at PSG.
