According to L'Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain ranks among the top three in FIFA World Cup player compensation, and Ligue 1 also receives a substantial share. The World Cup is a globally anticipated event that is both a burden and an opportunity for many clubs. Players compete during the World Cup, and some teams face personnel shortages after the season restarts, but FIFA provides compensation to clubs that have at least one player participating in the World Cup.

Paris Saint-Germain is one of the beneficiaries, with the club ranking 3rd with €3.58 million, receiving a portion of FIFA's total of €3.11 million. An analysis titled "FIFA World Cup Earnings" published this week by German Credit Bank shows that Paris Saint-Germain ranks behind Manchester City (€4.64 million) and Bayern Munich (€4.04 million).

Lille (€1.93 million) and Marseille (€1.77 million) constitute the top of Ligue 1 internally, with the Ligue 1 league receiving a total of €19.24 million, ranking third among all leagues, higher than La Liga (€17.80 million) and Serie A (€17.08 million), but far below the Premier League (€41.50 million), and similar to the Bundesliga (€22.52 million).

Marseille is also one of the clubs that benefited most from another solidarity sharing mechanism. This mechanism returns part of the revenue to the former clubs of players participating in the World Cup. According to this calculation, Marseille will receive a share of slightly more than €600,000, followed by Wolves with €538,908. Rennes (€454,500) and Lens (€436,700) rank 3rd and 4th, respectively.
