In the third round of Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup (Canada-Mexico-USA), Panama lost 0-2 to England. With successive defeats of 0-1 to Ghana, 0-1 to Croatia, and 0-2 to England across their three group matches, Panama became the only team among the 48 participating in this World Cup to finish without scoring a single goal.

In the 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIFA World Cups, every participating team managed to score at least one goal, with no team ending a tournament goalless.

In the 2010 FIFA World Cup, two teams failed to score: Algeria and Honduras. However, both teams earned points from goalless draws, recording one draw and two losses each.
