Leandro Paredes is set to face his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar in the 2021 Copa America final between Argentina and Brazil this weekend and he made it clear that the two men may be friends off the pitch, but in the upcoming duel they will be fierce rivals.

The PSG midfielder revealed what Neymar told him ahead of the game and explained what a player should do to effectively defend players of the Brazil international's quality.

"[Neymar] likes to be looked for, [he likes] the contact, but they hit him a lot," Paredes told TyC Sports.

"Marking him is very fu**ed up, it's impossible to have a shot. You never know where he's going to. It happens with him and with Leo [Messi] as well.

"Even if you know them a lot, they have something different. They are faster in the head and physical too.

"You have to mark [Neymar] closely but hit him as little as possible. He knows I'm going to drive him crazy and he tells me, and he also told me that we are going to fight the whole game if it happens."
