Argentina star Leandro Paredes has revealed Lionel Messi had refused to speak to him for three months over a comment he made during a Champions League match.
Messi and Paredes have been team-mates at international level with Argentina, as well as playing together previously at PSG.
Paredes, however, had angered the football legend when Messi was playing for Barcelona.
Messi's Barcelona lost to PSG in the 2021 Champions League Last 16, with Kylian Mbappe inspiring the French side to a 4-1 first leg lead.
PSG completed the job in a 1-1 draw in the return leg at the Parc des Princes.
Paredes had made a comment to his team-mates during the match, which Messi had overheard and incorrectly believed was about him.
Paredes, who now plays for Roma, revealed in an interview with Infobae that Messi had given him the cold shoulder for three months, before breaking the tension on international duty.
'We spent about three months without speaking, I had a terrible time,' Paredes said.
'I sent him a message the next day, I sent him a message 15 days later, I told him: "It wasn't for you, it wasn't to offend". And he didn't respond.
'He went three months without answering.
'Three months had passed without speaking. I thought: "Now I have to see how he reacts". But no, a phenomenon, a phenomenon, because we arrived at the premises on the same day.
'I arrived a little while early and he appeared in my room. I was brushing my teeth.
'It was very early and he threw water on me and said: "What are you doing up so early?".
Paredes had previously claimed in 2022 that Messi 'wanted to kill me' following the on-pitch comment, with the situation making him 'want to go home'.
Messi would ultimately join Paredes at PSG just months after the incident, signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
The pair claimed domestic silverware with the French giants, before clinching World Cup glory in Qatar in 2022.

Leo Messi does that a lot, whenever someone pisses him off, he doesn’t talk to them and just ignores them even after they tried to apologize or forget about it. That’s NOT a good character.
better than shouting, yelling and doing bad interviews against people. we all have grudges but it's a quality not to blabber in front of others.
