The former French international didn’t like how the Premier League side treated the Portuguese star during his second stint at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup following an interview with journalist Piers Morgan. The Portuguese star didn’t hold back during the interview and the Premier League side decided to terminate his contract. This didn’t sit well with former teammate Patrice Evra, who says the Red Devils shouldn’t treat a player who has given so much to the club like that.
Cristiano Ronaldo: One of the greatest
“I don’t know if it was the best decision but I think the club is happy, and Cristiano is happy because it was a heavy situation,” said Evra, speaking on Amazon Prime. “Let’s not forget what Cristiano achieved for the club. He is one of the greatest players to have played for Man United, it’s sad the way it ended.”
In his first season returning to Old Trafford, Ronaldo was the top scorer across all competition, but his career took a massive dive when Erik ten Hag took over the managerial job for the 2022/23 season. The 37-year-old was no longer a starter and was used as a substitute when needed.
This situation did not please the Portuguese star and for that reason he decided to not hold back during the interview with Piers Morgan. Now that he is a free agent it is uncertain where he will play next, but it appears that he will move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window.

I didn't see him criticizing what Ronaldo did. If you are a good friend help him not do wrong things. Going against club, coach wasn't a good move.. He was benched by Pirlo in Juventus, Ragnakic and Ten hag and even Santos benched him in WC. You think eveyone was wrong and treated him badly? Cristiano Ronaldo narcissist behavior is the main reason for this dad ending and top. If that he has friend like you and Piers Morgan along with sister who just can't shut up.

He is a great player but no player is bigger than the club, if ur performing poorly u sit and let others try thr luck, he is not on form just look at his stats during the WC, but best of luck for him in the next club

Actually it is the other way round. United admired CR for what he has done for the club in the past, bought him back, but we're really pissed with his behaviour. Don't ignore the fact he is no more what he use to be. This season he has really struggle on the pitch. United are much better without him. No doubt he is one of the greatest in history of football. But every thing has a end.
