Penalties taken in Top 5 leagues: Real Madrid continues to lead

Real Madrid continues to extend its comfortable lead in penalties taken in Europe's major domestic leagues. 

After the penalty converted against Atlético de Madrid, which served to equalize in the second half the 0-1 that their city rival had achieved on the way to their comeback (3-2), Real Madrid has already had the opportunity to go 14 times in 29 games to the penalty spot, practically at an average of one penalty every two league games. No one in the major national tournaments of the European continent comes close to this statistic.

Bayern Munich, in the Bundesliga, has gone 11 times to the 11 matchs, being the second club behind Real Madrid in the ranking of taking penalties between the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Premier League.

Behind them are Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona, both with 9 penalties in their favor.

Valencia in La Liga, Brest in Ligue 1, Brentford in the Premier League and Mainz in the Bundesliga have been able to take up to 8 penalties.

With 7 penalties, Milan and Pisa in Italy, Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany, Chelsea in England, Olympique de Marseille and Toulouse in France, and Mallorca, Girona and Celta in Spain have benefited.

In terms of penalties taken and penalties conceded in these five major leagues, Real Madrid has a favourable difference of +10, ahead of Bayern (+9), Borussia Dortmund, Mainz, Chelsea and Genoa (+6), Brest and FC Barcelona (+5).
