Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has called on his old rivals to sack their under-fire boss Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs suffered their 11th defeat of the campaign against the Gunners on Wednesday night, as a Dominic Solanke own goal and a Leandro Trossard strike left them languishing in 13th place.
Tottenham's torrid luck with injuries this season provides some mitigation for their dismal run of results, while their Carabao Cup campaign has kept a full-scale unrest from supporters at bay.
But Petit, who spent three season in north London with Arsenal, believes Spurs should pull trigger now.
'I don’t like to say this, but you can’t sack the players so you have to sack the manager,' he said on talkSPORT. 'The players look so miserable. Maddison, Son.
'Son was amazing for five years but what has happened to him? Spurs are going down with every game.'
Post-match, Postecoglou admitted that his side weren't good enough in the first-half and took responsibility for their second defeat against their arch rivals this term.
'We weren’t good enough, especially in the first half,' he told TNT Sports. 'We were too passive and let arsenal take the game, second half was better but nowhere near good enough and unacceptable.
'Ultimately I guess the responsibility lays with me. It wasn’t our intent when we started the game, second half was better but first nowhere near the standards we want to set.
'I’m more interested in about how we go about playing our football. We have no choice, go back to work and prepare for a tough game.
'They hurt me but they are not acceptable, we have had too many losses this year, too many games getting away from us and that needs to stop.
'If you give up now there’s no point but it needs to stop. Right now we have a big game on the weekend and that’s our focus.

Surely God is preparing Tottenham with something to celebrate. These massive injuries are not for nothing. 11 injuries at one time. It is terrible. I believe God is resting these players for something spectacular. When they come back, they will be strong enough to deliver us at least one trophy.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Funny people everywhere 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Look at last season to this season. Last season few injuries, did quite well. This season many injuries, struggling. If the Spurs owners and Levy like what he offers with game plan and mentality, keep him and spend to improve the depth of his squad
