Philippe Coutinho is set to hold crisis talks with manager Ernesto Valverde to discuss his Barcelona future, according to reports in Spain.
Sport say that the hierarchy at the Nou Camp are growing increasingly concerned regarding Coutinho's lack of impact since a club record move from Liverpool last summer.
They still see him having a long term future at the club despite rumours of a move back to the Premier League - yet boss Valverde has been unable to get the best out of him.
It is understood the manager will now take the time to talk to the Brazilian maestro and discover the root of his poor form in a bid to find a tactical solution to save his career.
The Catalan club had high hopes he'd be a direct replacement for Andreas Iniesta, but he's struggled to establish a role in the side.
He's scored just once and failed to record an assist in his last five games and has failed to take the opportunity presented to him by an Ousmane Dembele injury.
Manchester United and Liverpool have been whispered to be interested in offering him an escape, but Barcelona look unlikely to give up on the 26-year-old just yet.

"The Catalan club had high hopes he'd be a direct replacement for Andreas Iniesta, but he's struggled to establish a role in the side." What nonsense.. If you signed him for successor to Iniesta, then put him in that position.don't make nonsense

they should stop using him as a wing striker, he should play in the midfield position, that's the best of saving him. I said it before, that coutinho will never played well in that position that he is not used to.

We still remember on how Coutinho gave a ambitious statement (I want to win everything with Liverpool). And then worst things happens after his move away to the Catalan city (injured, poor performance, left out in the pecking order, never improved, resting all time, getting free salary)... He still has things to prove right. Wake up Get up and Move on brother

who’s to blame for the poor form of Coutinho?,I believe it’s himself, any player should take advantage of the minutes given to him in any match, his supposed to play so hard and prove that he needs to be in the starting 11 for every match, take Dembele as an example, amidst all concerns he still comes out and perform and help the team
