All the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip including updates on Kylian Mbappe, Levi Colwill and Paulo Dybala
Your morning Chelsea transfer roundup on Thursday, July 6.
Mbappe deadline
"We want him to stay but he can't leave for free," said Al-Khelaifi, as translated by Le Parisien. "It was our oral agreement and he had expressed it publicly in an interview. So it's not debatable. And I was really shocked to learn that he intended to leave for free.
"It's very disappointing because Kylian is a fantastic boy, a real gentleman, and leaving for free, weakening the biggest French club, it's not him. When I received this information, I was shocked and disappointed."
Then, when quizzed on how long Mbappe has to make a decision, Al-Khelaifi replied: "That's why he has to decide next week, or at most in two weeks. And if he doesn't want to sign a new contract, the door is open. It's like that for him and for everyone else. No one is bigger than the club, no player, not even me. It's very clear."
Colwill to Liverpool?
Liverpool remain interested in Levi Colwill this summer, football.london understands, but Chelsea remain determined to keep hold of the young defender.
The 20-year-old is due to return to the Blues once the Under-21s European Championships, where he is representing semi-finalists England, has concluded. Colwill is a man very much in-demand this summer after a really impressive 2022/23 season on loan down on the south coast with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Seagulls want to sign Colwill permanently and have already seen two offers turned down by Chelsea for the defender. The Cobham graduate is set to join up with the rest of the Chelsea squad and meet new head coach Mauricio Pochettino over the next couple of weeks where he will sit down with the Argentine and discuss what is in store for him.
Dybala request
Chelsea have reportedly identified Paulo Dybala as a potential target this summer. The 29-year-old forward has been heavily linked with an exit from Roma following his eye-catching displays last season.
Dybala, who sees his contract at the Stadio Olimpico expire in 2025, featured 25 times for Jose Mourinho's side in the Serie A, directly contributing towards 19 goals. His impressive performances for the Italian giants have reportedly courted the interest of some top clubs around Europe, and he could be available for just €12million (£10.3m).
According to Italian journalist Matteo De Santis, as quoted by RomaPress, Chelsea are considering a move for Dybala, who has been specifically requested by Pochettino. However, the report states that Roma aren't concerned by the Blues' interest and remain confident in keeping him on board next season.
Who would you keep or sell at Chelsea this summer...?

I don’t know why Chelsea are fond of this weird habit …. You chase a player for years he’ll not sign … then when the said player is no more at his prime … you’ll go back to price him Pato Higuain Eto Falcao then Auba Kulibaly now Dybala maybe tomorrow it will be Elsherawy

don't ruin the superstar career I am Chelsea fan many year ago but we always ruin the player only lampard terry drogba petercech and hazard shine in Chelsea rather than that no one ,Stamford is the murder of superstar😥😥😥 however I will support my club forever
you a fool,,,, Whose career was ended in Chelsea if not only players themselves, the like of bakayoko tried in many teams but never improved... Chelsea released a lot of young players so they can get game time somewhere else. stay with your negativity buh don't blame our might Chelsea. you just don't know football, if Chelsea was a bad club you wouldn't know De bryne, Salah, Lukaku, Guihe, Tomori, Abraham and the list goes on so make difference between a club that doesn't hold players to showcase their potential and one that understand the importance of letting players reach their potentials.

80 million for caicedo is okay, more than that is a NO, he tackles well, and he’s aggressive they’ll just leave as a stand by 4. Above all, a very good goal keeper. No good keeper no party, a silly goal is enough to loose a big 3 point. There a lot of options in the midfield already. Santos, Emeka and alot more. 4:2:3:1 wouldn’t even need more of them. Buy dybala for the fame, the business, the social networking booming and also nkunku might be an injury prompt

We don't need Mbape at Chelsea,he will bring confusions in the dressing room. His salary is hilarious,we don't want problems again let him go to real Madrid or Barcelona. We want simple and hard working players

Dybala yes, the only problem with Chelsea FC they get long in negotiations, look at Caicedo Saga and that reminds me of Raphina he ended up to Barcelona in Spain. That symptom is very bad,wen you target a player don't wast time. We have to sharpen up our front line, midfield, defense and a stable goalkeeper. The all team is not stable,if you remain silent and concentrate on signing 17,18,16,19 yrs academy players then Chelsea will be relegated from the EPL. Your focus should be on matured players, the team lucky balance in all areas. Please use your Brain...!! You are too Stagnant to progress for this team.
