Pochettino sent stark Chelsea warning, Boehly urged to prioritise summer exodus

Chelsea news: Emmanuel Petit has delivered a scathing rant on the Blues following their dismal 3-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal

Former Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit has insisted that the Blues must first solve the clear issue among the players before appointing a new manager. Having not won a game since March 11, Chelsea headed into their London derby clash against Arsenal in desperate need of three points, or at least a performance that interim boss Frank Lampard could build from.

Although there is clear quality among the ranks, there seems to be no unity among the squad and relationships between players don't appear to be strong. Based on what he saw, Petit has slammed the players of his former club, revealing something he noticed on the Chelsea bench at Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman said: "I was quite close to the Chelsea bench and I saw some of the players having arguments between them in the second half especially. I was very shocked in the first half the attitude of the players, the body language, no response, no pride, no unity, no friendship."

With no permanent manager in charge, Petit then turned his frustrations onto the current search for the next man to take the helm. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be appointed in the coming weeks and with a full pre-season implementing his methods he could certainly get a tune out of the Chelsea squad, but from Petit's perspective there is a worrying problem in west London and it cannot be solved by any manager.

"I was thinking you could put 20 managers on the bench and it won’t change anything at all at the moment," he added. "They need to clear something in the dressing room first and then think about the manager afterwards.

"You can put the best manager on the bench now and he doesn’t get the right answer, there are too many players. It’s a mess and it was embarrassing to watch Chelsea in the first half and I feel sorry for the fans."
