Ange Postecoglou refused to blame his Tottenham players for the individual errors which littered the heavy defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
'Mistakes are part of the game, I won’t be holding anyone to account,' said the Spurs boss at Molineux. 'It’s not like they’re doing it on purpose, so you have an understanding.
'I’d probably be more frustrated if it was something we did from a tactical or organisational perspective.'
Postecoglou backed his goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario who made a shaky start to the game, at fault for the opener by Rayan Ait-Nouri and an own goal by Djed Spence, which gave Wolves a 2-0 lead.
'I’ve 100 per cent confidence in him,' he said, when asked about Vicario, and went on to defend Cristian Romero and Lucas Bergvall, who lost possession in dangerous areas leading the third and fourth goals respectively.
'They’re two fantastic footballers. Those two in particular are pretty reliable in those situations.
'We made some individual errors, which was a bit unusual for us, fair to say. They all happened in one game and, unfortunately, we got punished.
'It’s obviously a disappointing result, and a funny game because for the most part our football was decent considering all the changes. We controlled large parts of it, were a threat going forward and didn’t give them too much.
'But then obviously we conceded some pretty poor goals and that made it awfully difficult.'
Postecoglou made six changes at Wolves with Thursday’s Europa League quarter final second leg at Eintracht Frankfurt in mind.
'You always try and do the right thing,' he said. 'What’s important is that we got some game time with some players, we rested a few and hopefully that puts us in good shape for Thursday night.'
Dejan Kulusevski returned as a substitute, his first appearance after six weeks out.
'We’ll see,' he said when asked if Kulusevski could start in Frankfurt. 'It was good for Deki, Richarlison and Matty Tel to get minutes.'

Ange shd be given 1 more season to prove himself. We hv made similar mistakes b4 by sacking good managers immediately after 1 poor season or even after a poor start of the season. We, as fans, shd also learnt from our past mistakes for being impatient

Spurs can’t handle playing in Europe …. If you check their fixtures since after the double friendly with Bayern Munich …. You’ll see that after every Europe fixture…. They always come back tired and unable to perform in their next 1-2 EPL matches
