The coronavirus pandemic has its first football fatality, as the Stade de Reims club medic Professor Bernard Gonzalez committed suicide after testing positive for COVID-19.
The reports in Le Parisien were confirmed in a statement from the Ligue 1 club.
Professor Gonzalez was 60 years old, had been working for the club for over 20 years and it’s reported both he and his wife tested positive.
He left a detailed suicide note explaining that he took his own life because he was suffering from coronavirus.
“Words fail me, I am stunned,” wrote Reims President Jean-Pierre Caillot.
This makes Gonzalez the first member of a professional football club to die after contracting coronavirus, although he took his own life.

I think there's something more to this that doesn't meet the eye..Why would someone commit suicide just because of contracting Coronavirus..People have recovered even though he was 60 it has been seen people can recover..Why would someone take his own life unnecessarily..I just have the feeling that something is being hidden from the people here..

Suicide is never ever ever ever a solution your life is not yours to take and no matter what the condition is you cant be too selfish to chose to take your life a life that millions of people couldnt have and some people here think this is about judging it is never about judging it is about the ultimate reality! I strong believe so my brother suicide is worst than coronavirus it's a shame that, he has given the devil an opportunity to celebrate, nevertheless, God will win this battle as He has always won
