Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has explained why he rejected a huge financial offer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Croatian international decided to stay at the Camp Nou after speaking to the Catalan club.
"There isn't a team in the world that can give me more than Barcelona, unless it's money", he said in an interview with SPORT.
"The most important thing is that [Josep Maria] Bartomeu knows that this is my home.
"It's true that a detail like that [money] is never a bad thing, honestly. But I would like to think that, if the time comes, it will be because I deserve it, because they truly mean it," Rakitic said, as he awaits a call from the club to negotiate improved wages.
"I know that the club cares about its players dearly and I am confident that the president will call me soon," he finished.

I really like and respect rakitic he's such a humble and creative player always speaks the truth no matter what and he's very committed he knows how important he is to the team and am. glad he's staying it's not just money that speaks...Unlike. nowadays where money is gradually taking over the transfer market ....thanks for staying it's nice to know we still have some committed and grateful players at the club

This is how grown ups view situation that involves a lot of money. Money can't buy happiness, if he's happy at Barca that's good for him. And the Barca board can't just the jewel of the midfield leave. His mission with with Barca isn't complete yet... There is more to come, and he will continue being happy.
