Sergio Ramos and Antonio Rudiger clashed during Sevilla's heated showdown with Real Madrid on Saturday.

Ramos faced his former club for the first time since leaving as a free agent in 2021, having spent 16 years in the Spanish capital.

But the 37-year-old left all sentiments behind him in hopes of lifting his Sevilla side up the table after a tough start which resulted in a change in manager during the international break.

Ramos rolled back the years, especially in the first half help as he kept Real at bay with a goal line clearance before he got into an argument with Rudiger on the verge of half-time.

Tensions flared as the two players went face-to-face, with Ramos grabbing the German by the face before team-mates separated them.

Rudiger did not back down, though, as he smiled before they continued to exchange words.

Sevilla took the lead in the 74th minute thanks to an own-goal by David Alaba. But Carlo Ancelotti's side equalised four minutes later through a  Dani Carvajal header.

The feisty showdown saw seven yellow cards handed in the second-half out as both sides eventually failed to find the winning goal.

Ramos and Rudiger put their argument to one side as they embraced each other with a hug once the match ended.

The draw sees Real Madrid remain top of LaLiga, while sevilla move up a place into 13th ahead of their Champions League clash with Arsenal on Tuesday night.
