After sweeping the board at the UEFA Champions League gala, Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, congratulated Luka Modric and suggested his colleague should get ready to add the Ballon d'Or to his list of awards in 2018.
The Croatian was named as UEFA's Best Player of the Year and Ramos shared an image of him kissing Modric.
"Now, for the Ballon d'Or," his message on Instagram read.

First of all Congratulations to my favourite midfielder Luka Modric. He's kind a shy person with Positive attitude. I love this guy. I just wanna ask you guys am I the only one who is surprised by Luka Modric won the Player of the year award? I mean he wasn't mention in first list of UEFA which includes C.Ronaldo, L.Messi & Salah. A player who's gonna win that award how could UEFA forget about mention his name in the first list. In the first list of UEFA C.Ronaldo was the favourite to win that award and suddenly UEFA replaced Messi with Modric. ( Messi was brilliant in Laliga and Copa del Rey but not in UEFA competitions ) In the second list C.Ronaldo was the favourite again to win the award. But i didn't understand if Luka was the favourite to win the award why didn't UEFA mention him in the first list of Player of the year award. Anyway I'm happy for him he also deserved and maybe once again a Midfielder is going to win the Ballon d'Or just like Kaka won it 11 years ago. The only midfielder to win the Ballon D'Or between C.Ronaldo & L.Messi's duopoly and Luka Modric may end this duopoly.
