Rashford had no doubt when asked who he hates more between Man City & Liverpool

Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford will be out to inflict a third league defeat on local rivals Manchester City when the sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The clash marks the first Manchester derby of the campaign and after nine games played, six points separate the two neighbours. If Erik ten Hag's men were to pull off a surprise victory on home soil, the gap would reduce to just three points and optimism would skyrocket among the Old Trafford faithful.

Meetings between the two sides are often fierce, but City are not the only side United deem rivals. Liverpool have long been arch enemies towards all those on the red half of Manchester and in the eyes of Rashford, there is little comparison when discussing the hatred each side stokes.

Earlier on in the year, Rashford appeared on Gary Neville's The Overlap and was asked which side he disliked more, City or Liverpool. United's number 10 wasted no time in picking Jurgen Klopp's side as he explained: "Liverpool, I don't like either of them, but I dislike them more." He later doubled down by adding: "It is Liverpool, all day."

Part of his reasoning may be that Rashford doesn't exactly boast an amazing record against the Reds. Though he has scored six goals against Klopp's men, he has won just three out of 15 games against Liverpool.

City are rivals with United largely in part due to geography, but for long stretches of time posed no real threat to the Red Devils' dominance. In contrast, Liverpool have enjoyed large periods at the top themselves, which of course inspired Sir Alex Ferguson to infamously "knock them off their perch".

For the majority of Rashford's time in the first-team fold at United, Liverpool have finished above them and won some of the biggest honours, including a Premier League and Champions League. The 25-year-old claimed: "Regardless of the circumstances you’re in, a win over Liverpool is massive."

The outcome of last season has seen Rashford confess he is fired up to help United end City's reign of dominance. Pep Guardiola's side became the first English outfit to win a treble since United back in 1999.

Pressed for comment on how he felt to see City lift the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, Rashford conceded: "Well done to them and we just move on now and it’s up to them to keep it up, and it’s up to the rest of us to try and catch them up." The first step comes on Sunday when Rashford is out to add another strike to his tally of five against United's 'noisy neighbours'.
