Marcus Rashford has become the latest high-profile name to condemn European Super League proposals.
The Manchester United striker joined team-mate Bruno Fernandes in hitting out at the formation of a European Super League on Tuesday.
The Premier League's so-called Big Six of Manchester United, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are founding members of the controversial new breakaway tournament that would replace their European commitments with UEFA, such as the Champions League.
Fernandes said 'dreams cannot be bought' on Monday and now Rashford has condemned the concept by posting an image onto Twitter of one of the banners which covers the stands at Old Trafford.
Carrying a quote from the club's great former manager Sir Matt Busby, it reads: 'Football is nothing without fans'.
Wolves player Daniel Podence posted an emotional post slamming the talks, with Fernandes sharing the winger's post and captioned it, 'Dreams cannot be buy (bought).'
Former United midfielder Ander Herrera, who now plays for PSG - one of the major clubs to not sign up to the proposals as of yet - has also spoken out against the new breakaway tournament.
The former Manchester United man took to Twitter on Monday to criticise the plans, saying they are 'the rich stealing what the people created'.
Other players, such as former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, Mesut Ozil and Yannick Bolasie have also slated the plans that are proving unprecedentedly unpopular.

ESL basically is trying to say "We're the elites and we will forever be the elites, no one in, no one out" They've created a platform whereby they will be guaranteed club status every year. They've separated themselves from the big teams making it impossible for small team to have a chance to become a big club themself. Say what you want but i belive the club owners are not only trying to get monetary gains but assure club status too. What is the point of teams like Leicester and Westham fighting for a place in CL if they will never be given the chance to be considered elites. You hypocrites that are saying we don't want change are the ones wjo truly don't want change bcz with ESL there will never be shift in power. Imagine AC Milan that has been under the radar for years being allowed in this Competition when a team like Leicester has won the PREMIER LEAGUE during this time.... Unbelievable ....

people are often scared of an invention. it takes great minds to come up with something like this. I see no reason why FIFA and co are doing everything to sabotage the S.L. I think if it succeeds like it should, it will be phenomenal. FIFA and co are only scared bicoz they fear of being out of business which should not be their worry if they care so much about the fans as they claim. Great things often start with an idea and then it birthed then groomed to maturity but if we are not flexible enough to ambrace change which is something that is constant in life then I don't know if we are living or existing.

It's a shame people still support Uefa and Fifa. They are obviously scared and intimidated by the ESL and they only care about their own pocket and because they know the fans are use to the UCL and Domestic Leagues they now threathen to ban the teams from them just to get fans to support them. How have they helped big teams whose value are dropping? How have they helped the racism issues happening in football everyday? But because their pockets are at stake they are ready to do anything to stop the ESL which would be double their standard from happening. Everyone is saying "The ESL is all about Money, it's not football". What is UCL and the domestic leagues all about??? we're they ever free entertainment??? No player plays for free, Every player plays on their payday! Every fan pays to watch their favorite teams either in stadiums or Tv. Players are traded for money. Of course it's entertainment but it all evolves around money!! The EsL is gonna gain a lot more and Fifa and Uefa are gonna lose value because of that , at the end of the day it's all about Money..

if man united asks rashford for a wage cut he wouldn't deny it , he is not greedy like glazers and other Americans. Don't compare footballers to those filthy American owners.
