Marcus Rashford played his first game in 59 days when he made a cameo in Aston Villa's 2-1 win over Tottenham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Rashford's Villa debut came a week after he sealed a loan move away from Manchester United until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old had been exiled by Ruben Amorim since December after falling out with the United manager and publicly expressing his desire to seek a 'new challenge'.
Rashford entered Sunday's game as a substitute in the 65th minute and went on to touch the ball 22 times, with each involvement causing excitement among the crowd.
After the game, Rashford took to Instagram to send a nine-word message to his new supporters.
Alongside five photos from the game - including two featuring young fans holding up homemade signs with his name on - Rashford wrote: 'Thank you for the warm welcome. Great team performance'.
Sunday's victory saw Villa reach the last 16 of the FA Cup for the first time in a decade.
They will be hoping to go all the way and win the tournament - something Rashford achieved twice with United.
Rashford is still under contract at Old Trafford until June 2028.
However, Villa will have the option to sign him permanently in the summer for a transfer fee in the region of £40million.
Rashford scored 138 goals in 426 senior appearances for United before making the move to Villa Park.
He will be hoping to net his first goal for Villa next weekend when Unai Emery's men host Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Villa currently sit eighth in the Premier League - eight points and five places above United.

Rashford you are a player with talent but a waste of money for united let you fans and supporters hype you like you are a worlds greatest player or English best player we united real fans and supporters that support the team not a player want you gone for next season so our manager Amorim built united with players eager to work and die for the team not lazy players like you

Rashford supporter you people are the ones that have make Rashford to believe that he is a goat overhyped the player I'm happy he is not at United for now
Over eight months without playing for Manchester United, is that not enough ? What do you want again. The problem is basically looking for scape goat for United failures. Something ago it was Sancho (SP) CR7 now Rashford, who's next. More than Rashford, Manchester United is a confused team. Old time has passed away. Presently, Liverpool, Arsenal, City are doing well only one space left for champion league candidate, hence the reason why you're all insulting Rashford. Man u Fans, leave Rashford alone, face facts.

what is paining you and your problem. He has left Manchester disunited. Stopped running after him, leave him alone. He has started a new chapter, new life. Manchester United is getting to a bus stop with him. It's a new FREEDOM for him.

nonsense talk are you the owner of the club, remember he is still under contract till June 2028 which was sealed and signed
leave them. That's why they put unnecessary pressure on Manchester United players and disunited the team. Embarrassing seeing United in 13th. what a shame. Is Rashford a team or just a player in a team. Difficult for them to accept failures but blame their disappointment on Rashford.
