Real Betis are approaching this season with great hope, especially as they'll bring back European football to the Benito Villamarin. At the moment Betis are locked in negotiations with Barcelona over a deal for Rafinha but the reality is there's no official offer on the table yet.

In fact, at Betis they know they must strengthen their left back options because there's only Junior who can play there in the first team. The person expected to compete for a starting spot with the academy star is Oleksandr Zinchenko, who currently belongs to Manchester City.

Betis are willing to loan Zinchenko until the end of the season with a complusary €12m being paid for the player next summer. The 21-year-old is desperate to play more often and that's complicated by the array of stars that Pep Guardiola currently possesses.

The Catalan coach reconverted the player into a left back and he was a little more involved in the first team last year. Zinchenko arrived at Manchester in 2016 and was loaned to PSV, which is where he first met now-Betis star Andres Guardado.

The decision will ultimately lie with Guardiola and whether it's a player he feels the club needs or not.
