Match Report

Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi both opted for strong teams with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Pedri and Lewandowski all given starts by the respective teams.

Barcelona took the lead through Ousmane Dembele inside 15 minutes. A free-kick was played out to Pedri on the edge of the box. The midfielder attracted Real defenders to step out before playing it wide for the Frenchman to slot home.

Real had the opportunity to equalise four minutes later when an inviting cross by Federico Valverde struck the arm of Ronald Araujo.

Vinicius Jr stepped up to take the penalty but could only strike the middle of the cross bar.

Tension between the two sets of players flared up on a number of occasions in the first half, notably when Frenkie De Jong was booked after a reckless lunge into Vinicius Jr.

Ancelotti's side almost got on level terms just after the hour mark when the impressive Rodrygo laid the ball to Aurelien Tchouameni, who struck the bar from 25 yards.

Barcelona's doubled their lead in the 85th minute through 20-year-old Fermin Lopez, who beat Thibaut Courtois with an unstoppable strike into the top corner.

Substitute Ferran Torres made it three in the dying minutes of the game after being played in by Lopez.

Barcelona will continue their preparations for the new season when they take on AC Milan in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Real will face Juventus in Floria on Thursday in their final pre-season friendly.
