On Monday, Real Madrid appointed Zinedine Zidane as their third coach of the season after Santiago Solari was sacked.
Coaching dismissals are a regular occurrence at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but it's in stark contrast to how Barcelona operate.
Louis Van Gaal was the last coach to be sacked by the Catalan club in January 2003 when Joan Gaspart was still president.
Since then, every coach has seen their contract through under the presidencies of Joan Laporta, Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Frank Rijkaard spent five seasons in the dugout at the Camp Nou, with president Laporta always giving him his full backing, even when he struggled in his first year in charge.
The Dutchman went on to lift the club's second Champions League title and Laporta wanted to renew his contract before he left in 2008.
Pep Guardiola spent as long as he wanted as coach of Barcelona until he stepped down at the end of his fourth season in charge having not won either LaLiga or the Champions League.
Tito Vilanova's health problems forced him to leave his role as head coach and be replaced by Tata Martino.
The Argentine saw out the year he had signed up for and left, allowing Luis Enrique to take the reigns and win the treble in his first season.
Enrique left at the end of his contract in 2017 and current boss Ernesto Valverde has renewed his contract for another year.
In that time, 12 coaches have failed to reach the end of their contract at Real Madrid.
Vicente Del Bosque and Jose Mourinho both avoided the sack and chose to leave at the end of their deals, while Zinedine Zidane resigned last summer.
Since 2003, Carlos Quieroz, Mariano Garcia Remon, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, Fabio Capello, Bernd Schuster, Mauricio Pellegrini, Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez, Julen Lopetegui and Solari have all been sacked during the presidencies of Florentino Perez and Roman Calderon.
Juan Ramon Lopez Caro and Juande Ramos both fulfilled their roles as caretaker bosses after their predecessor was relieved of his duties.

There is a word called 'Respect' which I don't think any team knows the meaning of it other than Barca and liverpool.

Maybe because in the last decade or so FC Barcelona were slightly better than Real Madrid in domestic competitions and maybe because Real Madrid wants instant results while Barcelona has given their coaches some time to settle down .

valverde really cause problem for Madrid coaches, he sack two of Madrid coaches in just 9 month. I think zidane is back to join the sacking line, that's why valverde told reporters earlier that he looked forward coaching against zidane 😂🤣 😂🤣 😂 zidane sack letter is loading........

Barcelona as a club respects the game more than other clubs do. A club such as Real Madrid respects Wins, and therefore whenever there is a period of uncertainty, they get their coaches sacked. As a football fan, I would rather watch a club enjoying the game rather than go for cut throat results, putting pressure on everyone. Hence, Visca El Barca!!

Because they have completely different ways of working the clubs...Barca sells their players for good money to work on getting other players when Real Madrid tends to spend money on coaches...they sold Ronaldo and are looking for a replacement and I think that they were thinking that if Zidane were part of the club again Hazard or kylain would want to join the squad... Barca are trying to not focus as much on the coach at the moment as Suarez is coming to a goal drought and Messi will be leaving soon so they are focused on getting useless players out and testing out new ones...

Barca will start sacking coaches the day Messi leaves that club. as it were coach or without coach Barca can still do well so long Messi is in the team.

Respect it's not just coaches, how many great players can we name in RM who could leave with their dignity intact. Not Casillas, not Ronaldo and Bale certainty would not on the other hand, barca cherish their legends
