After MARCA recently revealed the news, Real Madrid have now confirmed that Marcelo has suffered an injury to his right hamstring and will be out of action for a minimum of two weeks.
The Brazilian left-back, who limped off at the Camp Nou on Sunday will therefore miss matches against Melilla, Real Valladolid, Viktoria Plzen and Celta Vigo.
It is unlikely that - despite being selected - Marcelo will feature for Brazil during the international break.
"Following tests carried out on Marcelo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to his right hamstring," the official medical report read.
"His will recovery will continue to be assessed."
