Real Madrid argue that the footballer's agent regularly visits the Sports City and that there was no meeting with the club's sports management to discuss the Brazilian's contract.
Late yesterday morning, Monday, news was leaking about a possible meeting that had taken place yesterday at the Valdebebas Sports City between Vinicius' representative, Frederico Pena, and the club's sports management. A meeting just after what happened last Saturday against Espanyol with the Brazilian's gesture when he was substituted. A meeting also taking advantage of the Brazilian's training prior to tonight's match against Levante.
From Real Madrid, however, they categorically deny that this face-to-face meeting between the player's representative and the club's sports management took place.
They argue that their presence in Valdebebas is regular, every two or three weeks, especially since Vinicius is not the only player of the white club with whom Frederico Pena currently works.
Moreover, they claim that there is nothing new about Vinicius other than what has been known for weeks and his future contract with Real Madrid. It is not one of the topics currently on the club's roadmap. Above all, because there is still time to continue talking about his renewal, given that his contract ends in June 2027. A stance that contrasts with the one that confirms that the meeting between the two parties took place and where for more than two hours the Brazilian's representative met with the club's general manager, José Angel Sánchez, and Juni Calafat, responsible for international football at the white entity and who brought both Vinicius and Rodrygo to the club at the time.
It is worth remembering that the Brazilian has not yet completed a single game in the season we have had with Xabi Alonso. Whether because he is substituted before the 90 minutes are up after starting as a starter; or because he begins the match from the bench.
And then there is the conflict over his contract. As already been reporting in MD, the current contract of the Brazilian player is around 15 million net euros per season. His initial proposal was to earn the same as the great reference at the white club, the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé. The former PSG player receives 15 million contractually, but the Frenchman also has the signing bonus agreed with the white club for joining the club on a free transfer in June last year. A total bonus of 40 million net euros over five seasons after his contract with PSG ended on June 30 last year. This amounts to about 8 million for each of the five campaigns for the new white 'ten'. If we add both items, this raises the Frenchman's contract to 23 million net euros (46 gross) per season. Amounts that do not match what Real Madrid is thinking, which is why the offer it has put on the table is lower.
