According to sources, Real Madrid is joining the competition for Levante forward Eyong,

Real Madrid's club football director Solari being the point person driving this matter. However, the player himself still leans towards joining Barcelona.

At just 22 years old, Eyong has become one of the most sought-after forwards in the transfer market within just a few months. This season, his performance at Levante has been outstanding, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in 7 matches, fully demonstrating his strong offensive potential. Barcelona attempted to sign him during the final stage of the summer transfer window but failed to complete the deal due to financial constraints. Now, with his market value skyrocketing, Real Madrid has also recently started to act and officially joined the competition. According to "Cameroon News", Real Madrid has been closely monitoring Eyong's growth trajectory, and Solari has recommended signing the striker to the club. In fact, Solari showed interest in Eyong as early as when he was coaching Real Madrid's youth team, but no agreement was reached at that time. Now, he believes that this forward can be a tactically flexible option in Real Madrid's squad.

According to confirmation, Real Madrid has already had preliminary contact with the player's side, and the two sides have long had a basis for communication. However, currently Real Madrid has not taken further action. The club is aware of the entire situation, but considering that Eyong plans to decide on his future direction after January next year, it will not take any action for the time being. The player's top choice remains Barcelona; he expressed his willingness to join in the summer and is willing to continue waiting until 2026 to create opportunities for a transfer.

Eyong is expected to leave Levante this summer. The forward joined Levante from Villarreal in September for 3 million euros, with a resale clause in the contract that benefits both clubs. If a team makes an offer of at least 15 million euros, Levante will be almost forced to let the player go. The player's release clause is 30 million euros, and Villarreal has a right of first refusal, but Aiyong is not willing to return to a club that did not value him initially.

On the Barcelona side, Sporting Director Deco maintained close contact with the player's team before the transfer window closed at the end of August. Villarreal CF then demanded a 10 million euro release clause and refused to lower the price for Barcelona. Due to salary cap restrictions, Barcelona ultimately abandoned this deal, which was considered "good value for money". Nevertheless, the club still believes that Eyong's current price is attractive, but will not get involved in a high-priced bidding war.

Currently, Barcelona has not yet decided whether to sign a striker during the winter transfer window, nor has it determined a specific target. If they ultimately decide to sign a "number 9" player, Aiyong will be one of the top candidates, but the club is not in a hurry to act. Despite several Premier League clubs expressing interest, Barcelona believes it still holds a priority position. Real Madrid's involvement has not made Barcelona nervous, unless the latter offers a salary far above the market level.
