Santiago Solari may no longer be the coach of Real Madrid's first team, a role he took up against Melilla in the Copa del Rey, but he remains contractually linked to the club.

The club have proposed that he remains linked with the youth system until his contract expires in 2021.
He would not replace Manolo Diaz, whose Castilla team are third in Segunda B Group 1 with 49 points.
The Rosario born coach would instead be linked to a strategic role, given that Victor Fernandez left as the academy director in June 2017 and has not been replaced.
Now, it is up to Solari whether he accepts such a role, working alongside Zinedine Zidane, with whom he gets on well, or explores new opportunities elsewhere.
