Despite officially being after Cristiano's full release clause, Real are thought to be ready to negotiate his transfer if he can bring them an offer.
Following talks between Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, and Real Madrid on Tuesday, the striker has been left in no doubt that Los Blancos have little intention of pushing the boat out financially to give him the improved new contract that he wants. According to a report in Record today, this setback in negotiations between player and club appears to have left the 33-year-old set on leaving the Bernabéu. His decision is "irreversible", says the newspaper.
Real Madrid may put Cristiano money towards Neymar purchase
Officially, Real want Cristiano's 1bn-euro release clause in its entirety if he is to depart; however, it is understood that the club's would be ready to negotiate the star's transfer if he can go to them with acceptable offers from potential buyers. Real president Florentino Pérez, for whom seeing Neymar pull on the white shirt has become an obsession, would then use those funds to help finance the signing of the Paris Saint-Germain forward in a deal which, AS has learned, would be likely to be worth around 400m euros.
Cristiano feels cheated by Pérez over his summer 2017 promise of an improved deal, which the Real chief then proceeded to row back on. Meanwhile, the Pérez's pursuit of Neymar has merely served to exacerbate tensions between the pair. The player is unhappy about all the talk of Los Merengues forking out 400m for Neymar despite being seemingly unwilling to hand him a pay rise on his current earnings of 21m euros net a year (he wants his salary to be brought closer to the 37m pocketed by the Brazilian at Paris Saint-Germain).
PSG, United and Bayern are Cristiano's three exit options
If Cristiano cannot agree fresh terms with Real, he looks to have three options: PSG, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, has never hidden his admiration for the forward, or his desire to have him at the Ligue 1 club one day. It is a potential move that could be facilitated by Real's interest in Neymar. Meanwhile, Ronaldo and his family retain strong sentimental ties to United, with his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, revealing recently that she'd like to see her son return to Old Trafford.
In the coming days, Mendes will sit down again with Real Madrid, but as things stand the two parties appear to be very far from reaching an agreement.

Very wise decision. Neymar is the future. Ronaldo can go spend the rest of his career in Lisbon. He has paid his dues and Madrid has paid him his Wages too. Win-Win for both sides.

Ronaldo deserves to be earning €1.5m weekly because not even messi/Neymar has archieved what he has achieved in football. The truth is that,Real Madrid don't value their legends, esp CR7. Since the advent of CR7,Real Madrid has proven they can still replicate that form or magic that lifted UCL 5times in a row.. Ronaldo shows his magic when it's needed in football. 5 champions league trophies..OMG. ...who does that..COMMON GIVE THAT DUDE A PAY RISE WAGE

My thoughts are that Real Madrid and Ronaldo have come along way but the club is bigger than any one player, therefore at this time considering the card on the table, Madrid should go for the future. 33 VS 25, looking at the future who do you think the club should go for? For me let the best team in the world take 25 and let 33 look for potential buyer. RM will ever remember your contribution but allow our beloved club to grow while at the same time respecting your right. Cyrus B Sneh Liberia

Neymar is over-rated trash, popular only because he has a great management team and publicist. He is no nowhere near as good as the great legendary Brazilians like Ronaldo and Zico, 25 years ago He would have been considered slightly above average by Brazilian standards, but Brazil has been sliding. He is popular because he is ALWAYS on the news and he sells alot of shirts. I'd take Mbappe over Neymar any day.

Even if I don't kw what galaticos stand for, I guess it conote Giants. Rolando should by now knws d club he plays for. Real Madrid is a big organization who only cherish ur work n not ur person, aside 4rm all dis, Madrid will only be faulty if they fail to recognise Rolando as an icon anything aside this Madrid has no fault, n as an organization they can chosen to let him go or stay if they like. Obviously, if u r a Barcelona player u will b adore till u retire. Rolando, dis is a business, don't get it twisted if u eventually not given new contract move on u r a man made in machine.

He had better leave the club. What he hasn't done for the club.Four UCL tropies just in 5 years and to qualify for semi final in the UCL since he joined the club. What an achievement!Legend should be evaluated. The destruction of RM will begin since the day of leaving the club.Bcz Cr7 is Cr7.None can be his replacement. He was really amazing.I am sure that RM will not have any UCL tropy in his absence.Ee will miss u a lot,Ron.The best player ever of the world.Despite all these best of luck for u,Ron for the Fifa World Cup-2018
