Real Madrid have reportedly switched their attentions to Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois after being priced out of a move for Roma’s Alisson.
Cadena SER contradicts a report in Monday’s Marca, instead claiming Madrid find Alisson too expensive and have decided to turn to Courtois.
Roma value the Brazilian at €80m, while the Chelsea No 1 has only a year left on his contract and has made no secret of his desire to return to the Spanish capital, having played for Atletico Madrid earlier in his career.

Alisson Becker's future at club level rages on as the Brazil stopper looks to his next World Cup group game against Costa Rica. Real Madrid seem to be the only side that are yet to be priced out of a move for the 25-year-old, but conflicting reports are causing confusion as to what is actually happening. The two teams fighting it out for Alisson at the start of summer came in the form of Madrid and Liverpool. Los Blancos are after a man to replace the unreliable Keylor Navas between the sticks at the Bernabeu, whereas Jurgen Klopp had seemingly lost faith in Loris Karius following his Champions League final blunders.

To Madrid, every keeper is going to be expensive. Right now, most keepers are actually expensive. They should accept the price. Keepers are becoming even more important in a team. If Madrid really want a cheap keeper then they should look towards younger players. Their hunt for keeper is never going to end. Do they think Chelsea is going to sell Courtois for cheap?

Chelsea can put a high tag price on Courtois as in the current transfer window they won't let a player of his quality for cheap
