Real Madrid youth academy populated by sons of famous players

Earning that first step on the footballing ladder is perhaps one of the toughest achievements for any player but it seems that a famous name goes a long way at Real Madrid.

The latest starlet to sign up at La Fabrica is former Athletic Club star Julen Guerrero's son, Julen Jon, who is 13 years old and a highly-rated attacking midfielder.

Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly the king of the academy at this moment in time with all four of his sons passing through the system in recent times, Enzo Zidane leaving for Alaves in the summer.

However Luca Zidane remains at the club as the third-choice goalkeeper for the senior side with his younger brothers Theo and Elyaz further down the age groups.

In total there are eight famous names at La Fabrica this season, including Cayetano De la Red and Lucas Canizares, the latter in his fourth year at Los Blancos with a career as a goalkeeper, just like his father Santiago, ahead of him.

Finally there is Enzo Viera, the oldest son of Real defender Marcelo, who showed his penchant for goals with a hat-trick in a youth clash with Santa Ana, separating himself out from his father's shadow nicely.
