Jose Mourinho could face further action over his touchline behaviour — if the FA decide a spat involving Arsene Wenger and Alan Pardew sets a precedent.
Referee Mike Dean has included the incident in his report after Mourinho reacted furiously when provoked by Chelsea's second assistant coach Marco Ianni, following Ross Barkley's equaliser on Saturday. The FA will now decide what to do.
Ianni ran down the touchline in front of the Manchester United bench to celebrate Barkley's goal, which was scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
He then returned and celebrated directly in front of Mourinho, appearing to make a comment that angered him. Mourinho leapt from his seat and tried to confront Ianni, but was held back by several stewards.
The precedent is a touchline confrontation between Wenger and Pardew in 2006, after Marlon Harewood had scored a late winner for West Ham against Arsenal.
Wenger believed Pardew celebrated in an inflammatory manner, pushed him away and appeared to swear at him. The pair were charged with 'improper conduct' relating to 'aggressive and confrontational behaviour'.
Wenger received a £10,000 fine and a warning about his future conduct — Pardew was cleared, despite claims he was the instigator.
If the FA follows this line, they may be more upset by Mourinho's angry reaction, even though there was no physical contact, than Ianni's childish celebration.

I don't understand people saying Mourinho was provoked so he had to react, football rules on the pitch is simple that's why you see when somebody gets kicked and he reacted and he gets sent off... (Wenger received a £10,000 fine and a warning about his future conduct — Pardew was cleared, despite claims he was the instigator). Mourinho always corrupt the mind of fans wherever he goes and I can see he as started to corrupt the mind of some United supporters because United Fans I know under D Great Sir would not be analysing football this way
You don't know what you talking about, your hate for Jose is crowding your judgement

The moment I realized the officiating referee was Mike Dean, I knew trouble would emanate. Last season's game at Stamford Bridge, we saw Herrera shown a red card and Man U losing. He was so intimidatory to man u players. it was the same on Saturday. All he wanted was Chelsea to win the game. One wonders where the 6 added minutes came from. His officiating, not only when Man U is playing but even other games leaves much to be desired. Its actually high time some refs received demotion to pave way for refresher courses and probably act as a deterrent to would be poor officiating referees. ABASH POOR OFFICIATING, ABASH MIKE DEAN. Man Utd for life.

What action is he facing with all the injustice of refereeing and provocation of the opposing team coach? What injuries warranted a whole 6minutes as extra time?

Fans, players and staffs have every right to rejoice and celebrate. Retaliator will always get the brunt of his actions and it didn't matter who the provocateur. JM should compose himself.

Mourinho was right to retaliate, the real culprit is that childish Chelsea second couch. This reminds me of the World Cup when that rude and foul mouth Italian defender deliberately verbally insulted Zidane’s family and religion And caused Zidane to retaliate by head butting the Italian which resulted in the sending off of Zidane The difference between the two events is that the Zidane case has no witnesses while in this case there are a lot of witnesses that can confirm the childish behavior of the Chelsea staff member, besides there were no contact between Mourinho and the culprit maybe Mourinho wanted to question the man for his behavior

I think FA is biased. I think FA hates mou that much but let's watch and see if they'll charge him (mou) based on Saturday games because from the look of things, he was clearly disrespected and FA needs to tell Chelsea as a whole to apologise to mou

Mourinho needs to attend anger management classes🤬🤬🤬😤😤😤He is angry at the press, angry with the board, angry with some of his players, angry with the FA and now with Chelsea coaches. How can he make good decisions when there is so much anger in him. He should get an easier job and take on the Real managers position. Ha,Ha,Ha🤣🤣😜😆😃😄😁😀

Look at this picture. Literally all of the United guys are looking at Ianni. Mourinho was just probably the most irritated out of all of them. I think the FA are treating Mourinho unfairly these days
