Rennes will demand €100 million for Eduardo Camavinga, according to a report by RMC Sport. PSG have already approached, while Real Madrid's interest has waned.
Eduardo Camavinga looks set to be one of the hottest properties on this summer’s transfer market. At 18, the Rennes midfielder has already catapulted himself into the international spotlight and drawn the interest of several of Europe’s top clubs.
Having still not chosen to renew his current deal at the French club beyond 2022, the youngster is ready to take the next step in his career by joining a bigger club, and employed super agent Jonathan Barnett (best known as agent to Gareth Bale) to help him make this move a reality. But Rennes bosses will not make it easy.
“I know Jonathan Barnett, his agent, we have meetings every 15 days. Now that the championship is over, we will sit down with Eduardo to see what can be done. If he can continue for another year, we want it to be so. If he does not extend his contract, a solution will have to be proposed, but the priority is renewal,” Rennes president, Nicolas Holveck, said recently.
And it seems that any team that wants to sign Camavinga will have to dig deep inside their pockets, as, according to reports by RMC, Rennes will demand €100 million for the young French midfielder.
PSG approach; Real Madrid and Bayern out of the race
One club that could afford him is PSG. The Parisian outfit has already approached Rennes, with PSG’s sporting director Leonardo having met with Rennes bosses some weeks ago.
The €100 million price tag, however, has forced Bayern Munich and Real Madrid out of the bidding war -- and is far above Rennes’s €60 million valuation last summer.
Bayern are not willing to pay more than €25 million for a player who ends his contract next summer, while Madrid have ruled him out due to the recent progress shown by academy pearl Antono Blanco, in addition to Modric’s contract extension, which was confirmed on Tuesday.
As a result, Camavinga’s hopes of wearing the white of Madrid look extremely unlikely at the moment, and now even more so considering Rennes’ excessive demands.
Camavinga to make decision after U-21 Euros
Of course the player himself will also have a chief role in deciding on his future. And according to Le Parisien, his intentions are to wait until after the UEFA European Under-21 Championship to make that decision.
The Paris-based newspaper also predicts that the operation for any team that signs Camavinga will ultimately cost between €40 million and €50 million, which is practically half of what Rennes is currently demanding.

30-40mil pounds should be enough to get an 18yr old whose contract is remaining just a year...

100million? Maybe around 65million. His skills rankings is under 80. He not sure to be a starting player where he wishes to go.

You are ignoring the fact transfer fee also depends on duration of contract left, desire of the player to stay or to leave and competition in the market. Since he has only one year left in his contact and he doesn't want to stay and there is no serious competition for him, £25m should be enough.
ya true, but both RM and Bayern will chip in if the cost is less than 60M

Seriously his age is just 18, current potential of 78 as a midfielder, Almost as good as mbappe in his age

100M is too much to be honest a 60-75 would be good for his talent and age consideration
