On the programme El Desmarque Madrugada, journalist Santiago shared his perspective on Lionel Messi's quiet return to the Camp Nou.
The journalist stated: "Messi did not wish Laporta to exploit his image, hence he informed no one. As for whether there was any 'backroom manoeuvring' involved, I cannot say for certain, as Laporta wields considerable influence. However, Messi will not be backing Laporta during the election."
"I believe Messi won't get involved in the Barcelona elections. Yet he hasn't ruled out exerting influence or voicing opinions in some capacity. Today's post is an attempt to shape the club's future."

This journalist is just talking rubbish for publicity. True Messi didn't contact Barca but after he contacted LIMAK (the construction company), they contacted Barca so Laporta could have taken advantage if he wanted. You guys are just forcing issues between Messi and Laporta that doesn't exist and I won't be surprised if Victor Fort is being all these in a bid to discredit Laporta before the elections. There's no sure news coming from Messi' camp and it's a shame that Barca continue to have internal issues because such thing will continue to affect the administrative progress of the club, it turn affect sporting decisions.
