Former AC Milan midfielder Ruud Gullit was involved in a disagreement with Richard Keys about Mohamed Salah's bombshell interview
Richard Keys was interrupted by former AC Milan legend Ruud Gullit in a heated back-and-forth over Mohamed Salah's recent bombshell interview. The Liverpool winger was left out of the Reds' Champions League squad for the win over Inter Milan as a result of his damning claims, stating the club had thrown him under the bus.
Salah also hit back at Jamie Carragher in the interview following the draw with Leeds United, which was the third game in a row he'd been left out of the starting XI. Former Liverpool defender Carragher has been critical of Salah's performances this season and has since doubled down on his stance.
Gullit was in agreement with Carragher, claiming that Salah should have kept it to himself, while Keys said the Liverpool star had earned the right to speak his mind as they got into a disagreement live on beIN SPORTS.
"What is the motivation of it, do you want to leave? I think so," said Gullit. "I have been in the same situation as him with Milan. The same thing.
"I didn't play in the Champions League Final against Marseille. I didn't say anything. Why? Because my team has to play, the players have to play and I have to keep my mouth shut for them.
"That is the wrong thing. You should keep it to yourself and then you have to deal with it. Now with the press before a match like this which is very important for everybody.
"Now it comes to the conclusion, he did it on purpose."
"Of course he did," Keys said. "If Liverpool were honest, they would admit they signed him last summer with the view to selling him. Because he's only going to be worth £50m-£80m for another season.
"He would have walked for nothing. They couldn't afford to let him, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mo Salah go for nothing. I think we're probably reaching the conclusion the club wants and that Mo clearly does right now.
"I think he's earned the right to tell us how he feels."
"No, no, no," interjected Gullit. "The thing is, did he play well the last couple of weeks. He played awful. He didn't play well for a reason.
"The only thing, the same thing in the studio here they all defended Mo Salah, all of them. But I think it was not the right thing to do. Especially when you don't play well.
"Now, if the team is playing well without Mo Salah, your trumps are over."
Keys interrupted to ask why the former Netherlands international thought Salah wasn't playing well, but the 63-year-old admitted he didn't know.
"I think there's a couple of reasons," Gray said. "Probably himself and probably because Arne Slot has changed the way they're playing."
Keys said: "He's not happy with the way things are at the moment at the football club. He's not the only one, there's another senior professional there in exactly the same boat and he's getting away with murder week in, week out."
Salah has since been heavily linked with a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia, though Liverpool remain open to the legendary winger being reintegrated into the side.

salah is finished end of the story...history don't count in football as long as they perform its ok..his prime is far from over..liverpool made salah and they pay him huge salary so...salah can leave liverpool with his head held high
You're definitely not a LFC fan because if you are, and you watch their games often, you'll know Salah's low form is not half his fault. The coach's instructions to Salah and all other teammates play a major role in their poor form. The coach should have been to improve on the previous year's winning tactics and not to try to create a totally different one!

Gullit was right. Salah should have kept to himself. He was not playing well. So Slot benched him. He should be professional enough to follow the coach's decision.

Players have the rights to point out what is wrong. I'm not saying salah is right here but if you look at just the comments or news on social media where everyone talking about 'salah is finished', 'salah prime is past', 'salah should retire' when Liverpool lost their games back then. Only 2 or 3 percent of the comments talking about other players. Van dijk had poor performance, konate, isak, wirtz, kerkez and then gakpo who literally trashed but still playing 60-70 minutes. They didn't even get so much attention because of Liverpool poor results, it's all going to salah.
football.os a business...you cant bag your employer and expect to get away with it. anyone else would.have already been fired

"Keys interrupted to ask why the former Netherlands international thought Salah wasn't playing well, but the 63-year-old admitted he didn't know" Yes because he was not playing different than last year. His key passes per 90 minutes are almost identical to last season.
