Robert Lewandowski has said goodbye to his Bayern Munich teammates as he prepares to leave for a medical with Barcelona in Miami.
The 33-year-old striker has left the Bayern training ground and will likely fly out shortly.
He is expected to sign a three-year deal at the Nou Camp with the option of a fourth, and the club are hopeful of wrapping up the transfer by Sunday.
Lewandowski had been intent on leaving Bayern for some time, telling them 'my story is over' and refusing to back down over his wish for a new club.
With just one year left on his contract at Bayern, this is their best opportunity to avoid a world-class striker leaving for free.
He had been training with the German Champions but will now be able to switch his attentions to Barca's upcoming season - which begins with friendlies against Real Madrid, Juventus and New York Red Bulls.
The Poland star has some of the best goalscoring figures of any striker in Europe and netted 50 goals from 46 appearances last season.
He was a contendor for the Ballon d'Or in the 2019-20 campaign after picking up 55 goals from 47 games, but the ceremony was cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The following season he fired in another 48 but was beaten to the award by Lionel Messi.
Despite facing financial restrictions due to large debts, Barcelona still seem happy to sign players. Raphinha, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen have all been signed this window already.
