Rodgers: João Pedro is in top form with a strong desire to score

Morgan Rogers believes João Pedro is currently in top form and praised his in-form teammate for his "desire to score" for Chelsea under Xabi Alonso.

Rogers said: "I think João Pedro has a very strong desire to score goals and to run for the team."

"Especially in my position, he really helps me a lot. He always gives me an option. I can link up with him, and he can link up with me."

"He's a very important part of our team, not just for his goals, but also for his immense work rate. He's constantly sprinting down the flanks and doing a great job defensively."

"He also focuses a lot on scoring and getting into the box. He constantly works on his movement, getting into the box, and finishing in training, and he's been doing that in every game since I arrived here."

"He's currently in top form, and it's really good for Chelsea to have him performing like this."

He continued: "I feel good and confident every time I step onto the pitch now. The players and coaching staff allow me to be myself, which is the most important thing. I just need to play my own game and focus on that."

"There are still areas in my game I want to improve, but I'm very happy with my start. I think a strong start is very important—you try to win over the fans and your teammates, and that's not easy."

"So I'm very happy I've done that, but more importantly, we need to keep moving forward with the team. It's a long project, and it's heading in the right direction."
