In the 7th matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase, Manchester City midfielder Rodri was sent off in the 62nd minute after receiving a second yellow card during their away match against Bodø/Glimt.

Rodri has rarely been sent off with a red card throughout his professional career, and this red card was only the second of his career. Notably, the two yellow cards that led to his dismissal were issued just 53 seconds apart.

The previous time Rodri was shown a red card occurred during the 2023/24 season, when he was directly sent off in a Premier League home match against Nottingham Forest in Matchweek 6, which Manchester City won 2-0.

Additionally, this red card will rule Rodri out of Manchester City’s final Champions League league phase match at home against Galatasaray.
