Roma saw their run of seven straight wins come to an end, but super-sub Eldor Shomurodov cancelled out the Manuel Locatelli volley to slow Juventus progress too.
It was Juve who broke the deadlock, as Manuel Locatelli’s volley into the ground bounced into the far bottom corner. That was the first goal conceded by Roma since March 2, followed by three consecutive Serie A clean sheets.
Eldor Shomurodov replaced defender Mats Hummels after the restart, changing the Roma set-up to a 4-4-2, and immediately in a corner, Michele Di Gregorio parried the Evan N’Dicka header, but could do nothing on the Shomurodov follow-up from point-blank range.
Dovbyk tested Di Gregorio after a strong run and Svilar used his chest to keep out Wes McKennie at the near post after running onto the Nico Gonzalez through ball.
Kalulu was alert to stop Lucas Gourna-Douath running onto a pass that Dovbyk let go as he was offside, while Kenan Yildiz’s effort was deflected wide.
In the final minutes, McKennie’s strike from the edge of the area was charged down by Angelino after Lloyd Kelly pulled back from the by-line.
