On August 24 – According to Italian media outlet romagiallorossa.it, Roma continue to view Chelsea winger Gittens as their top target for the position.
The report states that Roma previously offered a loan deal worth 3 million euros, including a 40 million Euro purchase option, for Gittens, but Chelsea rejected the proposal. Blues manager Xavi Alonso also considers the English winger a key player in his squad.
However, romagiallorossa.it reports that Roma have not abandoned their pursuit of Gittens. Sporting director Tony D'Amico is seeking to understand Chelsea's reasons for rejecting the move and to explore whether negotiations could be reopened. Roma remain committed to signing Gittens as their primary choice to strengthen the winger position.
