Romano: Newcastle will sign Tonali in a deal worth €70m with add-ons

According to Romano, Newcastle will sign Sandro Tonali from AC Milan in a deal worth €70m with add-ons. His contract will be valid until 2029 for €7m per year and €2m add-ons. But this deal will not be announced today or this week.

The €70m fee is the record sale ever for an Italian player. And Tonali created the highest sale record in the history of AC Milan, surpassing Kaka's €67m.

Tonali was huge for Milan, and Milan was huge for Tonali… He is a boyhood fan of the club, a leader in the dressing room and a crucial part of the success when they won the Serie A in the 2021/22 season.

Sandro Tonali registered at least 8 more key passes (62) than any other U23 player in Serie A last season, and only Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (14) created more big chances than Tonali (12) among U23 players in Serie A last season.

No doubt it'll be an emotional goodbye for Tonali. Next stop, Newcastle under Howe.

Romano:
