The Belgian striker has admitted he would be "a dream" to secure a switch to Italy in the future, amid ongoing transfer links to Juventus and Inter
Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has hinted he could leave Old Trafford, confessing it is "a dream" of his to play in Serie A one day.
The 25-year-old has spent the last two years of his career at the Theatre of Dreams, having secured a big-money transfer from Everton in 2017.
Since then the Belgium international has racked up 95 appearances for United across all competitions, scoring an impressive 42 goals.
However, he has also faced his fair share of criticism during that time, with many fans and experts calling into question his ability on the ball and effectiveness in the final third.
Lukaku has recently found himself playing second fiddle to Marcus Rashford up front under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and speculation over a summer transfer to Serie A has been rife.
Speaking on Sky Italia's Lords of Football, the Red Devils striker has revealed he harbours ambitions of playing in Italy in the near future, as he stated: "Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream.
"I hope to be able to play sooner or later, even if at the moment I am focused on the United."
United are currently sixth in the Premier League with three matches of the 2018-19 campaign remaining.
A 2-0 home defeat against arch-rivals Manchester City on Wednesday has left Solskjaer's side three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri's men set to arrive at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils have endured a turbulent campaign which is destined to end without a trophy and began with a disastrous five months under ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach was sacked in December with the team languishing in mid-table and 12 points off the pace in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
Lukaku previously worked with Mourinho at Chelsea, where he was forced to leave for Everton after failing to break into his starting XI at Stamford Bridge.
Despite their history, the Belgian is grateful for his experiences under the enigmatic manager, as he added: "I wanted to play [at Chelsea], but Mourinho wouldn't let me and so I left.
"I have never quarrelled with him, but if one thing is not right I am of the opinion that it is better to leave.
"When I found him again he gave me so much, I will be eternally grateful to him."

Lukaku is still the best striker in the world. Its the matter of time. He scored lot of goals with Everton. He was on fire because he had a well understanding with other forward strikers. At Man U today he can play with Martial and Lingard tomorrow he plays with Mata and Rashford the other day he plays with Rashford and Martial. Martial, Lingard and Rashford do not feed Lukaku they fight to score goals by themselves so as to be praised rather than accomplishing their duties. At Man U there is no center forward there is no combination. Man U used to have combination those days. Giggs and Becks, Giggs and Ronaldo, Giggs and Valencia, Young and Valencia all these combinations knew how to feed their center forwards like Van Nestroy, Yorke, Cole, Rooney, Chicharito, Ole by himself. All big teams have their center forward and those who feed them.

I guarantee he will go to Serie A and be successful then play UCL and United fans will say he was mistreated which is true though they're the ones doing it like they did for Blind, Depay etc. Lukaku is just the right striker at the wrong time. The guy is a target man but when you have Shaw and Young crossing terribly what can you ask for? and are yall expecting Rashford and Lingard to be your saviours along with Martial the friendly ghost? United fans might be as bad as the toxic side of our fanbase....

He already know the board will sell him, That's what OLE said " Some big star are going to leave, and won't witness the club success " So lukaku you are good to go. You aren't even in competition for the Golden shoe since when you join Utd or even score 30 goals for us in a season and I know we Manchester United won't regret if you go even if u shine there.

all the clubs doing well in Europe have players settled and willing to fight for the club and a starting spot while at united we have players eyeing a move to either real Madrid or psg or hoping to play in other leagues. so tell me if there can be any progress. I bet progba is even fantasizing being some big real madrid star winning uncountable trophies and even shortlisted for the balon d 'or so unless this toxic situation is sorted we maybe a Europa or mid table club with a few scraps in relegation. how I miss good old days [Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh]

Lukaku is actually a good striker, better n more experienced than Rashford, Ole has become confused with the problems from the Squad n he is indecisive on handling these boys unlike Mourinho who was strict with them, most of these players r spoilt brats who must leave the club otherwise Ole won't last as United's manager. Lukaku simply needs serious n motivated players around him to deliver the goals like he does in the Belgium national team. keep hold of Lukaku n send that useless n spoilt Rashford on loan to grow up!
